چکیده

The main means of secondary oil recovery is water flooding, which has been widely used in various oilfields. Different flow rates have a great impact on the ratio and occurrence remaining oil. Scholars carried out extensive research it, but mostly macro scale, three-dimensional micro scale also limited by accuracy lack accurate understanding. In this paper, micro-CT core displacement experiments are to intuitively show state under different rates. Through series quantitative image processing methods classification methods, characteristics systematically evaluated studied. results that: (1) As rate increases, saturation decreases (61%; 35%; 23%), more evenly distributed along slice; (2) Two lower speeds (0.003 mL/min; 0.03 mL/min) can reduce volume huge clusters oil-saturated conditions, highest speed (0.3 completely break up large into small droplets. At same time, shape factor gradually increases; (3) proportion continuous decreases, discontinuous increases. Discontinuous production target EOR; (4) After microscopic inclined middle corner parts larger pores.

Pore-scale simulation of carbonate dissolution in micro-CT images

We present a particle-based method to simulate carbonate dissolution at the pore scale directly on the voxels of three-dimensional micro-CT images. The flow field is computed on the images by solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. Rock-fluid interaction is modeled using a three-step approach: solute advection, diffusion, and reaction. Advection is simulated with a semianalytical po...

An investigation of the effect of pore scale flow on average geochemical reaction rates using direct numerical simulation

The scale-dependence of geochemical reaction rates hinders their use in continuum scale models intended for the interpretation and prediction of chemical fate and transport in subsurface environments such as those considered for geologic sequestration of CO2. Processes that take place at the pore scale, especially those involving mass transport limitations to reactive surfaces, may contribute t...

Investigation of dosimetric characteristic of NIPAM polymer gel using x-ray CT

Introduction: Polymer gel dosimeters contain chemical materials sensitive to the radiation which are polymerized by the radiation as a function of absorbed dose. So information of spatial dose distribution can be extracted by imaging from irradiated gel. Among imaging techniques, computed tomography (CT) poses as an attractive method because of practical advantages such as acce...

Direct simulations of two-phase flow on micro-CT images of porous media and upscaling of pore-scale forces

Pore-scale forces have a significant effect on the macroscopic behaviour of multiphase flow through porous media. This paper studies the effect of these forces using a new volume-of-fluid based finite volume method developed for simulating two-phase flow directly on micro-CT images of porous media. An analytical analysis of the relationship between the pore-scale forces and the Darcy-scale pres...
